Dans un communiqué officiel publié ce 4 janvier 2025, les Forces Armées de la République Démocratique du Congo (FARDC) ont dénoncé la création frauduleuse d’un compte WhatsApp utilisant l’identité du Lieutenant-Général BANZA MWILAMBWE Jules, Chef d’État-Major Général des FARDC, avant même sa prise de fonction officielle. Ce compte, attribué à une certaine Yvette NZIGIRE, est soupçonné d’être utilisé à des fins malveillantes, au profit des groupes ennemis, notamment le M23 et leurs alliés.
Les FARDC ont mis en garde leurs officiers contre les messages émanant de ce compte frauduleux, soulignant que les réseaux sociaux ne constituent pas un canal officiel de transmission des communications pour l’armée congolaise. Elles appellent à la vigilance et demandent de ne pas tenir compte des contenus propagés par ces moyens détournés.
Le communiqué précise également que cette pratique ciblant les hauts cadres de l’armée n’est pas isolée. D’autres figures de l’institution militaire, notamment le Lieutenant-Général MASUNZU Pacifique, Commandant de la Troisième Zone de Défense, ont également été victimes de telles manœuvres orchestrées par l’ennemi.
Les FARDC ont réaffirmé leur détermination à déjouer ces stratagèmes visant à saper leurs opérations et leur commandement, tout en rappelant l’importance de suivre les canaux de communication officiels pour toute information émanant des Forces Armées de la RDC.
Ce communiqué, signé par le Général EKENGE BOMUSA EFOMI Sylvain, Porte-Parole des FARDC, illustre les défis multiples auxquels fait face l’armée congolaise dans son combat contre les forces déstabilisatrices opérant dans le pays.
